OUS faculty, staff honored at Newsmakers Gala

ATHENS, Ohio — Twenty-four faculty and staff of Ohio University Southern were among those honored at the Faculty Newsmakers Gala. These faculty and staff were recognized for making headlines in 2017 and for their dedication to raising the profile of the University.

Those honored included: Jacki Adkins, Randy Bazell, Craig Bowe, Gary Belcher, Bradie Chapman, Maranda Clement, Beth Delaney, Mike Donley, Martha Evans, Kelly Hall, Mashawna Hamilton, Ginger Hardy, Hayley Mitchell Haugen, Charles Jarrett (deceased), Molly Johnson, Mary Lou Malone, Don Moore, Deron Newman, Nicole Pennington, Dana Scott, Joy Shytle and Michelle Theiss.

Nicole Pennington, Dean of Ohio Southern, said the campus is very proud of the work of Ohio University Southern faculty members and staff.

“This gala is a wonderful way to recognize the important work that they are doing for our regional campus students,” Pennington said.

Most of those included in the recognition were lauded for their work with grants, for publications, advancement in their disciplines or for service to students, the campus or community. The recognition event was hosted by University Communications and Marketing.
