Schools locked down while police investigate gun report
EAST GRANBY, Conn. (AP) — Two schools in a Connecticut town were placed on lockdown while police investigated a report that a student had a gun on a bus.
State police say the high school and the middle school in East Granby were locked down Tuesday while troopers searched the high school. The schools are in the same building.
Troopers responded just after 7 a.m. After ensuring all students were secured in classrooms, police conducted a search. They later determined the gun report dated to Friday.
Police say a person of interest was identified, but officials did not say whether a weapon was found and no arrests were announced. The investigation is ongoing.
The lockdown was lifted and school continued as normal.
