Severe thunderstorm making its way across Conn.
A severe thunderstorm is currently roaring through Ridgefield as of 3 p.m. Wednesday.
The thunderstorm, seen on radar near Ridgefield and New Canaan around 2:45 p.m., the National Weather Service said, is expected to hit central Fairfield County and northern Westchester County in New York.
The storm is moving at about 20 mph, the NWS said.
Bridgeport, Stamford, Danbury, Newtown, Fairfield, Greenwich, Trumbull, Westport, Monroe, Bethel, Wilton, Weston and Redding are in the path of this storm, the weather service said.
Bridgeport is expected to be hit by the storm around 3:25 p.m.
The NWS also issued a flood advisory for central Fairfield and central Westchester counties until 4:30 p.m. In Connecticut, New Canaan, Stamford, Greenwich, Wilton and Ridgefield could see some flooding.
