ABORTION RESTRICTIONS-ARKANSAS

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. _ The Arkansas House votes on whether to ban abortion 18 weeks into a woman’s pregnancy, a restriction that would be the strictest in the nation if enforced. The state already bans abortion at 20 weeks. By Andrew DeMillo.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. _ Little Rock Mayor Frank Scott Jr. is calling for an independent civilian police review board to ensure that law enforcement “remains accountable and responsive” to residents.

HERBICIDE DISPUTE-ARKANSAS _ Arkansas lawmakers have endorsed a proposal to allow limited use of an herbicide that was banned following complaints that it drifted onto nearby crops and caused widespread damage.

ARKANSAS CASINOS-JEFFERSON COUNTY _ Backers of a planned casino and resort in Jefferson County say the project will create more than 1,000 permanent jobs in the area.
