O’Keefe Powers Redmen; Westford Makes Tourney
Sophomore Will O’Keefe recorded his 2nd straight hat trick to power Tewksbury past Concord-Carlisle, 7-2, in high school boys hockey action on Saturday.
O’Keefe scored the first 3 goals for the Redmen and later added an assist.
Junior Campbell Pierce had a goal and 3 assists for Tewksbury (13-4-2). Jason Cooke, Cole Stone and Kyle Morris also scored in the victory.
Westford Academy (9-7-2) qualified for the state tournament with 2 games remaining.
Alex Sepe and Matt Cielakie had the goals for the Grey Ghosts, who jumped out to a 2-0 lead. Andover pulled its goalie late and got on the scoreboard.
Jared Venezia netted a pair of goals, and Andrew Sullivan and Conor Benoit each had a goal and an assist for Wilmington (7-11).
The Wildcats led 3-0 after 2 periods and outshot Matignon, 29-10, for the game.
Zack Kincaid dished out 2 assists and Chris Spinazola had a goal.
Wilmington needs to win one of its final 2 regular season game to qualify for the state tournament.
Nashoba Tech 5
It was Senior Night for Nashoba Tech (7-11) and senior Matt Venti tallied 2 goals and an assist.
Jonathan Wright also had 2 goals and an assist. Aaron Marinella contributed a goal and 2 assists in the victory.
Littleton/Bromfield improved to 8-8-2 with the win, despite being outshot, 30-17.
Danny Angell had a hat trick for the Tigers, and Maddox Lizotte had 3 assists. Justin Montepeluso and Derek Peterson also scored goals.
Littleton goalie Ben Canfield made 27 saves.
Bishop Guertin 4
The Cardinals (8-11) trailed 4-1 and battled back to nearly tie it.
Ben Young (Pelham) had 2 goals for BG, and Pat Madden (Pelham) had a goal and an assist. Mike Kiely netted the other Bishop Guertin goal.
