Man, boy identified after January explosion, fire
WALNUTPORT, Pa. (AP) — Authorities have identified a man and a boy found dead after an explosion and fire in eastern Pennsylvania in January, but the cause of the blaze remains undetermined.
The Northampton County coroner said Friday that 37-year-old Bruce Allen Miller Jr. of Lehighton and 10-year-old Bruce Allan Miller of Hatfield died in the Jan. 21 fire in Lehigh Township.
Coroner Zachary Lysek listed the cause of death for both as smoke inhalation, but said the manner of death was ruled “undetermined.” Lysek said the additional cause of death for the elder Miller was “acute methamphetamine and methamphetamine intoxication.”
He said the state police fire marshal has ruled the fire’s cause and point of origin as “undetermined.”
Police said Miller had been renovating the farmhouse, which was built in 1900.
