Humble ISD has 24 student athletes sign on National Signing Day

Humble Independent School District had 24 student athletes sign letters of intent Wednesday morning on National Signing Day at the Charles Bender Performing Arts Center.

Since 2012 — the first year Humble ISD graduated five high school classes — more than 650 student athletes have signed a letter of intent to participate in college athletics.

“On behalf of the Humble Independent School District and the Board of Trustees, I want to offer my sincerest congratulations regarding your extraordinary accomplishments being celebrated today,” said Superintendent of schools Dr. Elizabeth Fagen in a program. “Today, you will have the opportunity to officially “sign” with your carefully selected college or university, a very impressive list of college and universities I might add, and officialy become a college athlete. It is a very exciting day, and our entire community could not be more proud of you and your achievements.”

Kingwood High School had 10 student athletes sign while Kingwood Park High School had six sign, Atascocoita High School four signings, Summer Creek High School had three student athletes sign and Humble High School had one student athlete sign a letter of intent

Kingwood had four swimmers sign with colleges in Jordan Anderson (Lindenwood University), Jacob Bass (Cornell), Cole Ellis (McMurry University) and Ian Kogucki (Ohio Northern University).

Kingwood’s Jourdyn Campbell signed to play softball at Texas A&M University. Garrett Carswell signed with Missippi State to run track and field, Camden Gray will be headed to Incarnate Word to play volleyball, Colleen Feagins will play soccer at Stephen F. Austin, Carter Storm will run cross country and track at Colorado State University and Isabel Shanahan will play soccer at Northwestern State University.

Kingwood Park had a duo of softball players in Mackenzie Adams (McLennan Community College) and Kaylyn Daniel (St. Mary’s University) sign to play in college.

Leah Alberto signed to play golf at Sam Houston State University, Elise Parel will stay close to home and play golf at Houston Baptist University, Yates Barker will play volleyball at the University of Texas-Tyler, Lindsey Broussard will run cross country and track at Our Lady of the Lake University.

Humble’s Kierra Washington signed to play softball at Albany State University.

Atascocita’s Caleb Cannon will play baseball at Sam Houston State University and London Marder will play softball at the University of Texas. Brittney Stafford will play basketball at Incarnate Word and Andrew Lovejoy will play golf at Millsaps College.

Summer Creek’s Andre Duplantier II signed to play baseball at the University of Texas. Kendall Dutton will play volleyball at Southern University and Samantha Rodriguez will play softball at Northwestern State University.
