Danton’s Gulf Coast Seafood to rebrand and relocate
Danton’s Gulf Coast Seafood and Steaks will close its Chelsea Market location at 4611 Montrose at year-end. The restaurant, founded by Kyle Teas in 2007, will reopen as Eugene’s Gulf Coast Cuisine in a 4,600-square-foot space in the former Mockingbird Bistro at 1985 Welch early next year.
Bernie’s Burger Bus plans to open a 3,000-square-foot restaurant with a drive-thru in the former Pollo Loco at 6324 Texas 6, Missouri City, in early 2019. It will be the Houston chain’s fourth location. The others are in Katy, the Heights and Bellaire. The company, which started as a food truck, will celebrate its eighth birthday Sunday at 8th Wonder Brewery with free burgers and entertainment.
Duluth Trading Co., a seller of casual wear, workwear, tools and outdoor gear, has leased one of the final large spaces in Katy Ranch Crossing as it prepares to enter the Houston market in 2019. The retailer has leased 16,000 square feet in the center at Interstate 10 and Katy Fort Bend Road. Lilly Golden of Evergreen Commercial Realty represented the landlord, Freeway Properties. Jason Baker and Traci Holman of Baker Katz represented the tenant, which has also leased space in Baybrook Mall at Interstate 45 and Bay Area Boulevard in Friendswood from GGP. Part of Wisconsin-based Duluth Holdings, Duluth Trading Co. has more than 40 stores in the U.S., including new locations in Lubbock, Denton and Arlington.
Houston-based Baker Katz has completed the remodeling and sale of a 52,744-square-foot, 24 Hour Fitness-anchored center at 7068 FM 1960 in Humble to 2ML Atascocita. Joe Silver with Streetwise Retail Advisors represented the buyer. Neal Wade with Baker Katz represented the seller. New tenants under Baker Katz’s ownership included CareNow and Potbelly Sandwich Shop.
Daiso, a Japanese dollar store, has a new store at 11151 Westheimer.
Salon Service Group has leased 3,000 square feet at Kingsland Plaza, 23222 Kingsland, Katy. Benny Nguyen and Jim Thompson of Retail Solutions represented the landlord.
Optical Illusionz has leased 2,553 square feet in Southmore Village, at Southmore Drive and Shaver Street, Pasadena, from Shavemore LP. Bob Conwell and Austen Baldridge of NewQuest Properties represented the landlord. Eric Lestin of CBRE represented the tenant.
Tidwell C-Store has purchased 3.4 acres on Jensen Drive just west of U.S. 59 as the site of a gas station and additional retail. Kevin Staloch of Staloch Realty Services represented the buyer. Ryan Neyland of Davis Commercial represented the seller, Finger Interests.
Spring Branch Tae Kwon Do has leased 1,500 square feet in the Canyon Lakes Shopping Center at Beltway 8 and Wilson Road in Humble. Kim Bernick of Edge Realty Partners represented the landlord. Kathy King of Edge Realty Partners represented the tenant.
