Florence man dies in Darlington County shooting

DARLINGTON, S.C. – A shooting late Saturday night claimed the life of a Florence man.

Jerome Robinson, 18, of Florence was pronounced dead at the scene by Darlington County Coroner J Todd Hardee.

The shooting occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

After he was shot, the victim was driven from the scene to a convenience store parking lot at the intersection of S.C. 340 and Hoffmeyer Road, according to the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident remains under investigation by the Darlington County Coroner’s Office.

An autopsy has been scheduled.
