A proposal by Columbus Exposition & Racing will be reviewed by the Nebraska State Racing Commission in a meeting on Friday in Lincoln.

CER is seeking approval to change the number of racing days for the upcoming season at Ag Park that begins in August from 14 to 12.

Though exact dates have yet to be finalized, most of the schedule through the month of August to September will again include racing dates on Fridays and Saturdays as well as the traditional final day of racing, Labor Day.

The racing season will begin Friday, August 2 through Monday, September 2.

“CER will have live races and is continuing to seek community support to keep horse races in Columbus,” Tom Jackson, CER vice president said Thursday.
