Brenda Anderson Blackwell
Brenda Anderson Blackwell of Orem passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2018 at the age of 76. She was born in Provo, Utah on November 21, 1942. Her parents were G. Lowry Anderson and Mercedes Poulsen Anderson. She excelled in studies and graduated from Springville High School, following which she attended Brigham Young University on a full scholarship, and graduated in elementary education.
Following graduation, she taught elementary school for four years. She was married to Robert H. Blackwell, and upon his graduation from Brigham Young University they moved to Bountiful, Utah where she taught at the elementary school. The couple then returned to Orem, where they resided permanently.
Brenda was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held many positions.
The couple had two sons and a daughter; she is survived by son Daniel but predeceased in death by daughter Mychel and son Matthew.
Trips with her husband to South Fork in Provo Canyon, were greatly enjoyed by her.
There they observed a variety of wildlife, including deer, wild turkeys, peacocks, among various other animals in a natural setting. Brenda loved to read and was a member of the neighborhood book club where she participated for many years, and she belonged to several other clubs. She enjoyed taking care of her home and yard, and she loved her family, the ward, and the neighborhood. Brenda will be greatly missed, especially by her loving husband of fifty-six years.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 21, 2018, 11:00 a.m., Cascade 2nd Ward, 451 East Center Street, Orem. Friends and family may visit prior to services from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem, UT. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.walkersanderson.com.
