167 employees at UND and NDSU apply for buyout program
FARGO, N.D. (AP) — More than 150 employees of North Dakota’s two largest universities have applied for buyouts.
The University of North Dakota in Grand Forks says it received 98 applications — 22 from faculty and the rest from staff.
North Dakota State in Fargo says it received 69 applications — 39 from faculty and 30 from staff.
KFGO radio reports that the limited-time Voluntary Separation Incentive Program was offered in late November as a budget-cutting move.
The program provides eligible employees with incentive compensation based on their annual salary and years of service.
