Runoff elections slated for Fort Bend County

Residents in cities around Fort Bend County will return to polling stations for runoff elections on Saturday, June 8, as candidates who failed to get 50 percent of the vote in the May 4 General Election face off.

Early voting begins on Tuesday, May 28, and runs through Tuesday, June 4.

Voters in Sugar Land, Stafford and Rosenberg will be asked to vote one more time for members on their respective city councils.

In the District 2 seat on the City Council, Nabila Mansoor is facing Naushad Kermally.

In the May 4 election, Kermally led the voting with 39.14% of the vote with Mansoor collecting 34.23%. David Gornet got the remainder of the votes but failed to finish in the top two for the runoff.
