LAS VEGAS (AP) _ Freshman Jennifer Williams scored a career high 20 points and pulled down a game high 11 rebounds as New Mexico upset No. 19 Hawaii 79-65 in the quarterfinals of the Western Athletic Conference tournament.

New Mexico scored the first four points of the second half to take a 27-point lead, but Hawaii used 8 of 11 second half 3-pointers to cut the deficit to only seven points with 4:28 left.

New Mexico finished the contest with an 11-3 run for the win.

After trailing 10-9 with 14:32 left in the first half, New Mexico outscored Hawaii 33-9 over the remainder of the half to lead 42-19 at the break.

Hawaii (24-3) shot a season low 26 percent and was outrebounded 21-11 in the first half.

Hawaii's halftime total was also a season low.

New Mexico (24-6) was assisted by Abbey Garchek's 17 points, while junior center Katie Kern tied her season-high with 13.

All five of Hawaii's starters scored in double figures, led by Kylie Page's 15 points. Senior Brandi Ashby led the team in rebounds with nine.

New Mexico will play Colorado State, which defeated Southern Methodist in overtime 67-64 earlier in the day, in a semifinal game on Friday.
