Police continue search for suspect in bank robbery
BULLHEAD CITY — Bullhead City police are continuing their search for a man who robbed a local bank on Tuesday afternoon.
A lone man walked away with an undisclosed amount of cash after the robbery at National Bank of Arizona, in the 1900 block of Highway 95, shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Emily Fromelt, spokeswoman for the Bullhead City Police Department, said detectives and officers spent Wednesday following up on leads — some provided by the public — after the suspect was captured on surveillance video and the photo widely distributed in the Tri-state and beyond.
“They followed up on tips,” Fromelt said when asked for an update on the investigation Wednesday afternoon, about 24 hours after the robbery took place. She said the suspect has not “been ID’d yet.”
The man, dressed in a blue Nike hoodie with white trim, entered the bank, placed a duffel bag on the counter, told the teller that he had a gun and demanded cash be placed in the bag. The teller complied.
No gun was ever shown. There were no injuries in the incident.
The man then left the bank on foot. By the time police arrived, the man was no longer in the area.
Anyone with information about the suspect pictured in the photo from surveillance video is urged to contact the Bullhead City Police Department at 928-763-1999.
