VALLEY SANTA: Medical Issues Make Buying Gifts Difficult

November 17, 2018

This year has been extremely difficult for 7-year-old Peyton and her 4-year-old brother David.

Their parents are in the middle of a divorce, which has left the children living between two households.

Since their father Carl was the source of income for the family, their mother Michelle got a full-time job to provide for them.

In September, Michelle was forced to take a leave of absence from work due to medical problems.

“This has left me with no income,” Michelle wrote in a letter to Valley Santa. “I honestly don’t know how I am going to provide a Christmas for them this year. I am unable to return to work until further notice, which means I may have no income until after the holiday season.”

Michelle said her children have had to adjust to many major life changes this year and now she is faced with the possibility of not being able to provide them with a Christmas they “desperately deserve.”

She asked for Valley Santa’s help in providing Christmas presents for her two children.

“As a mom, I feel it is my duty to do whatever I need to do for their happiness even if it means having to reach out and ask for help,” Michelle wrote. “Valley Santa may be my only chance to provide anything this Christmas, which is why this would be such a help to me and to them. Thank you for this opportunity.”
