Somerset school board briefs

The Somerset school board met Monday. Here’s a brief of the board’s business:

Approved breakfast and lunch prices for the 2019-20 school year. Prices for elementary students are $1.15 for breakfast and $1.95 for lunch. Secondary prices are $1.15 for breakfast and $2.05 for lunch. For adults, breakfast is $1.65 and lunch is $3.05.Approved multiple supply and equipment contracts.Approved summer school dates and tuition.Accepted the Appalachia IntermediateUnit 8 operating budget.Approved a resolution of support of state House Bill 526 and Senate Bill 34, which would require a family to pay tuition if their child enrolls in a full-time cyber charter school other than the one offered by their school district of residence.Approved homeless policy No. 251.Approved a physical therapy contract with Camco Physical and Occupational Therapy, of Johnstown, for Aug. 1, 2019, to July 31, 2021.Approved the purchase of novels “The Secret Life of Bees” and “Monster” for grade 10.Approved the following summer school instructors: Marc Cacciotti, Ashley Oglevee and Beth Costea.Accepted the retirements of Sue Foor, Deborah Lint and Michael Maakestad.Approved the following substitute teachers: Kelly Krotzer and Amber Boozer.Approved purchasing marching band uniforms for a cost not to exceed $35,000.
