A marketing assistance loan to assist with farm financing is available to you
LINCOLN - With commodity prices lower than normal farmers may want to consider a Marketing Assistance Loan to assist with farm financing.
The program is an option for grain producers if they want to wait and see if better market prices evolve later in the marketing year for their harvested bushels.
Sarah Heidzig-Kraeger, a price support program specialist with the Nebraska Farm Service Agency State Office in Lincoln tells News Talk WJAG if you still want a loan at this year’s rate you need to apply right away.
“For us to be able to get the loans processed if a producer would like to have a loan dispersed in this calendar year we need them to come into the office by December 15th because there’s a cutoff date at the end of our year so that our finances can all roll over for the next year. So we can get that loan processed in time for them we need them to come in by December 15th.”
