June 17, 2019

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — New Orleans police say two men were shot and arrested after a New Orleans police officer was shot in the shoulder while answering a call about a holdup.

A news release says an 18-year-old and a 26-year-old were shot by three officers who fired back after the first officer was wounded about 6:10 a.m. Monday.

News agencies report that the shootings occurred at a CVS drugstore.

Police say one man was arrested on the scene and the other nearby, after a search.

Police said both were arrested on charges of attempted murder of a police officer and armed robbery with a gun.
