Police: Officer shot at 15-year-old trying to run him over
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Police in Rochester say an officer fired five shots at a 15-year-old teenager who was attempting to run down the officer in a stolen car.
Rochester Deputy Police Chief La’Ron Singletary says the unidentified boy was grazed in the leg and was treated and released into police custody after Thursday’s shooting. Officers say they attempted to pull over the teenager that afternoon, and later found the car in a parking lot.
Police say the teen drove at an officer approaching the vehicle, resulted in the officer firing five gunshots at the vehicle.
The officer, whose name hasn’t been released, wasn’t injured. He has been put on administrative duties pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
