Director Convicted of Harassment
NEW YORK (AP) _ A jury has convicted the ex-husband of Ingrid Rossellini Aborn, a daughter of the late Ingrid Bergman, of aggravated harassment.
Alberto Acciarito, 44, was found guilty Thursday of charges that arose from his calling and threatening Mrs. Aborn and showing up at her home despite court orders to leave her alone. He was acquitted of lesser harassment charges.
Acciarito, a film director and producer who lives in Rome, was jailed without bail after the five-day trial. He faces up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine at sentencing.
Acciarito and Mrs. Aborn, who were married in 1979, have one child together, a son Tommaso, 18. The defendant said he had been trying to get past Mrs. Aborn so he could have a relationship with the son.
Mrs. Aborn is the twin sister of actress-model Isabella Rossellini.
