TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) _ A dog may be man's best friend, but farmer Liu Ming-hui's pal is a pig.

Liu, 29, was carrying his best stud pig on a three-wheeled cycle Wednesday, on the way to a client, when he was knocked unconscious in an accident with a car about a half-mile from his home in Matou, police there said today.

Liu carried no identification papers and the car driver had difficulty locating help.

The pig, apparently uninjured, walked home.

When he arrived, Mrs. Liu locked him in a pigsty. But the pig broke out and ran, with the farmer's wife in pursuit, back to the highway where Liu was lying injured.

Police in Matou, 210 miles south of Taipei, said Liu was in satisfactory condition at a hospital today, and his rescuer was living high on the hog.
