Auto-parts manager charged in theft
A manager at a Wabash auto-parts store has been charged with theft and corrupt business influence, Indiana State Police said today.
Christopher Hawkins, 25, of Wabash was arrested Monday and held in the Wabash County Jail on $20,000 bond, state police in Peru said in a statement.
Hawkins, a manager at Carquest Auto Parts, is accused of improperly discounting parts he purchased for himself, the statement said. It said he also is accused of discounting parts for customers who were not authorized to have discounts.
The actions purportedly deprived Carquest of about $13,700 in income, the statement said.
