Economic Development Partnership announces new marketing manager
The Woodlands Are Economic Development Partnership announced this week that former administrator Ashley Byers was promoted to manager of marketing and outreach.
“I work in a small office of just four people, so to have the opportunity to advance and be given more responsibilities and challenges is something I’ve been interested in all along,” Byers said. “It’s a privilege.”
Her new role isn’t too far off from the responsibilities in her former position, she said, but in the new role the opportunity to grow and expand will be larger.
“It’s a lot of the same,” Byers said. “I’ll still be managing the marketing department and coordinating advertising, graphic design and ad placements, as well as giving executive support to (CEO Gil Staley).”
The promotion comes as the latest in a long line of professional achievements for Byers. As a former military spouse in Europe, Byers earned her dental assistant certification and worked in the dental and health fields until a position opened at the EDP six years ago. The opportunity, she said, was too good to pass up.
“As a young mom — and young person — I didn’t know what I wanted to do when I ‘grew up,’” Byers said.
In her new role as marketing manager, Byers will take the helm on a potential rebranding of the EDP later this year and devising a new strategic plan. She’ll continue to be responsible for the social media and website content production of the partnership.
“Ashley has proven her skills as an effective marketer and relationship builder,” CEO Gil Staley said in a news release announcing Byers’ promotion. “She will continue to be a strong contributor to the success of our organization in her new position.”
