Perot Signs Deal with Burger King
DALLAS (AP) _ Perot Systems Corp. has won a multiyear contract to provide technology services for fast-food restaurant chain operator Burger King Corp., the companies said Wednesday.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Miami-based Burger King said the contract is the latest in a series of steps to prepare the hamburger chain for separation from its parent, Diageo PLC, an international food and beverage company.
Dallas-based Perot Systems will run Burger King’s data center and global network, which had been operated in tandem with those of other Diageo subsidiaries. Burger King’s data center will be moved by year end to a Perot Systems facility in Plano, just north of Dallas, the companies said.
Perot Systems was founded by former presidential candidate H. Ross Perot and had 2000 sales of $1.1 billion.
Burger King and its franchisees operate more than 11,370 restaurants.
