SYLMAR, Calif. (AP) _ Tutor Perini Corp. (TPC) on Tuesday reported second-quarter profit of $24.9 million.
The Sylmar, California-based company said it had net income of 49 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 23 cents per share.
The construction company posted revenue of $1.12 billion in the period, falling short of Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.17 billion.
Tutor Perini expects full-year earnings to be $1.90 to $2.05 per share.
Tutor Perini shares have dropped 25 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $19.10, a decrease of 27 percent in the last 12 months.
