Chatfield will celebrate the arts Saturday

Chris Koza will perform at the Potter Auditorium in Chatfield at 7p.m. Saturday as part of the city’s Arts & Heritage Day.

CHATFIELD — A daylong celebration of the arts will be held Saturday in Chatfield.

Arts & Heritage Day will kick off at 10 a.m. and conclude with a concert at 7 p.m. by Chris Koza. The events take place in and around the Chatfield Center for the Arts, 405 Main St. S.

An art fair, with work by a dozen regional artists on display, will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Artists will be on hand to show and discuss their paintings, watercolors, photography, jewelry, wearable felt art, stained glass and pottery. In addition, drawings by local high school students will be on display in the 1916 Gallery from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Live music will be presented on the steps of Potter Auditorium from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. by First Rodeo (St. Paul), the Lonely Knees (Chatfield), Don Scott (Chatfield) and a group of local musicians known as the Whole Hog Music Revue.

Koza will perform inside Potter Auditorium at 7 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for students.

A hotdish cook-off will be held, with tasting from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. There also will be maker stations featuring a variety of hands-on art activities for kids of all ages from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
