Bettendorf voters to consider $30M school bond issue
BETTENDORF, Iowa (AP) — The Bettendorf school district will ask voters to approve a $30 million bond issue in December to model its middle and high schools.
The Quad-City Times reports the school board approved the bond issue on Monday. Voters will decide whether to approve the bonds on Dec. 11.
The district says the money would improve the safety of the schools and upgrade science classrooms and athletic facilities. Three elementary schools would also be remodeled.
Superintendent Mike Raso says 659 people signed a petition supporting the bond issue and only 626 were needed.
