Stanley man accused of punching Minot police officer
MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A Stanley man is accused of punching a Minot police officer in the face outside of a bar.
Officers responded to Nola’s Bar on Wednesday night for a report of a man refusing to leave and causing a scene.
Authorities say 36-year-old Eric Deck refused repeated commands to leave a parking lot near the bar and punched an officer who approached him. Deck fled on foot but was chased down by officers who subdued him with a stun gun.
KMOT-TV reports the officer was treated at the scene for an injury to his lip.
Deck made his initial court appearance Thursday and will enter a plea later to felony assault of a police officer. Court documents indicate he’s representing himself. A home telephone listing couldn’t be found.
