Fire damages Vancouver home, resident sent to hospital

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — An early morning fire damaged a home in southwestern Washington and sent one resident to the hospital with smoke inhalation.

The Vancouver Fire Department tells The Columbian that crews responded at about 4 a.m. Saturday to the house in Vancouver that had smoke and fire coming from the garage and front area.

Firefighters brought the fire under control in about 20 minutes. There was no damage estimate.

The name of the person sent to the hospital wasn’t released.
