Penn Hills School District partners with Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh to offer free immunizations.
Penn Hills School District has once again partnered with Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh to provide free immunizations to students.
The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile will be at Linton Middle School on Sept. 10, and at the elementary school Sept. 24. Both visits are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The mobile clinic comes at no cost to students, families or the district.
Superintendent Nancy Hines said its services are coordinated by Dr. Elizabeth Miller, chief of Children’s Hospital’s division of adolescent and young adult medicine.
State law requires students to be fully vaccinated within the first five days of school.
The law does allow for exemptions for religions and medical reasons.

“We have the legal authority to exclude kids if they’re not compliant,” Hines said. “I want students in school. We want to make it convenient for the families, and we’re so thankful for Dr. Miller’s help.”
No registration is required, and students from any of Penn Hills’ three schools can participate in the visits. More information is available at phsd.k12.pa.us.
