Katrina Dick: There are some great options for plus size clothing
Hello all, I hope your week has been well. Mine has been exhausting, and I’m really not sure why; but I think it has something to do with the fact that the days are getting shorter and shorter.
I did manage to make a trip up to the Huntington Mall the other day, to pick up some clothes I had ordered from Forever 21. I took a few minutes to look around, then went walking through the mall, window shopping, killing time before I had to head back to work.
I took a stroll inside the store Torrid and was in awe of the beautiful clothes! While I am not “plus size,” I do have a lot of friends that fit into that size range, and they always seem to have trouble finding clothing at decent prices — which never made any sense to me.
“Plus size” clothing shouldn’t be any more expensive than petite clothing - in my humble opinion. Torrid is a store that is specifically for women sizes 10 and up. While I wouldn’t imagine a size 10 is anything close to being “plus size,” - apparently they do. So here we are.
Torrid sells absolutely gorgeous clothing. While their price tag is a bit much for my taste, the quality of the clothing and the styles seemed to be worth the extra money. There is a sale going on right now, which includes 25 percent off bottoms. Torrid is great store and I believe that you really do get your money’s worth out of their clothes. However, if you’re like me, you just cannot or will not pay $50 for a pair of pants - well, you’re in luck.
One of my favorite stores, Forever 21 has an EXTENSIVE “plus size” section. And, I do mean extensive. They have just about as many styles and options in the “plus section” as their other sections - and the prices can’t be beat.
While the quality may not be as great as a store such as Torrid, you can still have a beautiful wardrobe and have gas in your car. What’s even better is they are currently having a 75 percent off sale.
Another great store for “plus size” clothing is Cato. Cato is a great store, and relatively inexpensive. They have a great “plus size” section, especially online. There are so many options and styles to choose from, including a gorgeous leather jacket that was priced at around $45, which just happened to be the most expensive thing I could see on their website. They are also having a clearance sale, with a lot of their “plus size” clothing at prices around $15.
With options like these, everyone can stay stylish and trendy no matter their size. Have a great week and happy shopping!
