Police Seeking Pickup In Hit-and-run Crash That Injured Nanticoke Man

NANTICOKE — City police are now seeking a GMC U-Haul pickup that was seen leaving the scene of a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured an elderly pedestrian.

The driver of the truck is being sought in connection with the crash that hit 72-year-old Harold Rinehimer as he was crossing the street at East Broad and Market streets around 10:20 p.m. Sunday, police said.

Rinehimer was last listed in stable condition at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Twp.

The rental truck is the third vehicle police put out an alert for in connection with the crash. Previously, police said they were seeking an orange SUV and a black sedan.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has information about it is asked to call police at 570-735-2200 or 911.
