DeKalb County Health Dept. still collecting hygiene items through Friday

The DeKalb County Health Department is still collecting personal hygiene items through Friday to prepare staff for public health emergencies and stock local food pantries.

You can drop off items at the health department, 2550 N. Annie Glidden Road, the DeKalb Public Library, 309 Oak St., the Genoa Public Library, 240 W. Main St., the Kishwaukee Family YMCA, 2500 Bethany Road, Sycamore, the Sandwich YMCA, 707 S. Main St., and the Sycamore Public Library, 103 E. State St.

The health department is looking for regular-sized items, but won’t turn down travel-sized items.

Any businesses or organizations that would like to collect items, the health department is willing to pick them up. Contact emergency preparedness officials Cindy Graves at 815-748-2447 or Melissa Edwards at 815-758-6673 to set up a pickup or to get more information. You can also visit health.dekalbcounty.org.
