Police: Man threatened people with BB gun

July 24, 2018

BARRE, Vt. (AP) — Police say a man who had a rifle pointed at his face realized it was fake when he grabbed the muzzle and it broke in half.

The Times Argus reports three people were outside in Barre Sunday when 25-year-old Brian Blanchard Jr. started yelling at them to stop listening to his conversations and threatened to shoot one woman.

The woman told police she didn’t know what Blanchard was talking about.

Police say Blanchard pointed a rifle at a man who confronted him. It wasn’t until after the man grabbed the rifle that he realized it was a BB gun.

Blanchard pleaded not guilty Monday to multiple charges including felony aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and criminal threatening.
