DEFENSIVE LINEMEN

KEDRICK BINGLEY-JONES, Charlotte Providence Day, DL, Sr., 6-4, 260 _ Has 78 tackles, 13 sacks, two safeties, one fumble recovery and one interception for a touchdown. First-team all-conference pick. NCISAA all-state pick. Names a top-250 player in the nation. Finalist for the Defensive Lineman of the Year for the South Charlotte Sports Report. On offense at TE, had six pancakes and three catches. Has more than 20 offers and is committed to Florida.

ARISTOTLE BOWLES, Charlotte Olympic, DL, 5-10, 210 _ Had 108 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 11 hurries, three breakups, two forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. Conference defensive player of the year.

JEREMIAH BROWN, Kings Mountain, DL, Sr., 5-9, 295 _ Had 95 tackles, 11 sacks, 25 tackles for loss, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries for state semifinalist.

MIGUEL CALLEJA ESPARZA, Concord Robinson, DT, Sr., 6-0, 280 _ Had 28 tackles, five tackles for loss and two sacks. All-conference pick.

JOE CAMARA, Northwest Cabarrus, DT, Sr. _ Had 73 tackles and 10 sacks. Conference defensive player of the year.

REED CHANDLER, Greenville Conley, DE, Sr., 6-4, 235 _ Had 98 tackles (69 solo, 29 assisted) with 11 tackles for losses, two sacks, 14 hurries, three deflections, four forced fumbles, three recoveries and one touchdown. Committed to Army.

ISAAC CHAPMAN, Alexander Central, OL/DL, Sr., 6-2, 275 _ Shrine Bowl pick at OL. On defense, had 58 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, nine sacks, three forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries. Conference defensive player of the year for two straight years. Blue-Gray All-American Game participant.

JONATHAN CLARK, Waxhaw Marvin Ridge, DL, Sr., 5-10, 200 _ Had 60 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks.

JACOLBE COWAN, Charlotte Providence Day, DL, Jr., 6-5, 265 _ Had 36 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and 10 sacks. Had four forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Also had four catches with a touchdown at TE. All-conference and NCISAA all-state pick. Ranked as one of the nation’s top DLs with more than 30 offers. Finalist to repeat as South Charlotte Sports Report DL of the Year. AP all-state pick last year.

TERRELL DAWKINS, Concord Cox Mill, DE, Sr., 6-5, 240 _ Had 50 tackles, 8.5 sacks, one blocked punt, and one blocked punt return for a touchdown. Had a TD catch. Committed to N.C. State.

KIANTAI DEGREE, Bessemer City, DL, Jr., 6-3, 245 _ Had 104 tackles, 21 tackles for loss and nine sacks.

KANE DESHAUTEURS, Brevard, DE, Sr. _ All-conference pick who had 66 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, six sacks, 15 hurries, two forced fumbles and two recovered fumbles. Also had 11 catches for 152 yards and three touchdowns. Also ran for two touchdowns.

KEZIAH EVERETT, Farmville Central, DL, Sr., 6-2, 315 _ Had 81 tackles, seven sacks, 18 tackles for losses, three forced fumbles and four recoveries. Committed to East Carolina.

RAEVON FREEMAN, Matthews Butler, DE, Sr., 6-1, 215 _ Had 58 tackles, 10 sacks, eight tackles for loss and five breakups. Two-year starter. All-conference pick.

TRAEVON FREEMAN, Matthews Butler, DE, Sr., 6-1, 215 _ Had 48 tackles, 10 sacks and five tackles for loss. Two-year starter. All-conference pick.

TRAVEON FRESHWATER, Elizabeth City Northeastern, DL/LB/RB, Sr., 6-3, 210 _ See player of the year nominations.

DEREK GREEN, Southwest Onslow, DT, Sr., 6-5, 295 _ Had 139 tackles, 32 for loss, 13 sacks and a forced fumble for a team that reached 2-A regional final. Oklahoma recruit.

AMARU HERRING, East Duplin, DT, Sr., 6-1, 262 _ Had 99 tackles, 31 tackles for losses, six sacks, two forced fumbles and four blocked field goals. Shrine Bowl pick. Committed to Georgia Southern.

SAVION JACKSON, Clayton, DL, Sr., 6-4, 260 _ Had 66 tackles and 5.5 sacks. Shrine Bowl pick. Ranked the No. 3 prospect in the state’s senior class by 247sports. Signed with N.C. State.

ROMAN JOHNSON, Southern Guilford, DE, Sr., 6-3, 250 _ Explosive pass rusher and playmaker despite team’s struggles. Had 185 total tackles (144 solo), 38 tackles for loss and 22 sacks. Finished regular season ranked in the top 10 nationally in sacks and tackles by MaxPreps. Blocked four punts and recovered three fumbles. Scored seven TDs as a fullback. Two-time conference defensive player of the year in a league that had a state finalist and a regional finalist. Has FCS offers.

NOAH KYEI, Charlotte Mallard Creek, DT, Sr., 6-2, 270 _ Had 47 tackles, 21 tackles for loss, seven sacks and 13 hurries. Batted three passes and blocked a field goal. All-conference pick.

JEREMY LEWIS, South Central Pitt, DE, Sr., 6-4, 228 _ Had 95 tackles (62 solo, 33 assisted) with four sacks, 14 tackles for losses, one forced fumble and one recovery. Committed to East Carolina.

NATE LYNN, Charlotte Vance, DE, Sr., 6-3, 265 _ Had 61 tackles with 20 tackles for loss. Aggressive pass rusher who led strong defense with 13 sacks. Played run equally well. Has offers from William & Mary and Gardner-Webb, among others.

ANTWON McCLEE, Gastonia Ashbrook, DL, Sr., 6-0, 280 _ Had 78 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, 37 pressures, three forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one deflection.

JADEN McKENZIE, Wake Forest, DT, Sr., 6-3, 280 _ Had 77 tackles, 10.5 sacks, two fumbles forced, two fumble recoveries. Signed with Ohio State.

PAYTON PAGE, Greensboro Dudley, DT, So., 6-3, 315 _ Had 80 tackles, 26 tackles for loss, 10 sacks and 21 hurries in 14 games. J’SON PITTS, Cherryville, DL, Sr., 5-11, 170 _ Had 123 tackles, 12 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and one tackle for loss.

TRAVALI PRICE, North Lincoln, DL, So. _ Had 118 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, one recovery for a touchdown and three forced fumbles.

JAVON ROBINSON, Monroe, OL/DL, Sr., 5-11, 220 _ Had 71 tackles, 11 tackles for loss and six sacks. All-conference pick who played on both lines, playing multiple positions on the OL while lining up both inside and outside on the DL.

KACI SEEGARS, Charlotte Ardrey Kell, LB/DE, So., 6-2 _ Had 78 tackles, eight tackles for loss, five sacks, 15 pressures, three forced fumbles and five breakups. All-conference.

HUNTER SHOPE, Murphy, OL/DL, Sr. _ Anchored offensive line that helped team average more than 325 yards rushing per game for 1-A champions. On defense, had 106 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, seven sacks and a recovered fumble. Conference lineman of the year.

ELIJAH SIMMONS, Wallace-Rose Hill, DT, Sr., 5-10, 210 _ Was second on the team with 81 tackles. Had two sacks and numerous tackles for loss. His presence deterred teams from running up the middle.

JAHEIM SIMPSON, Statesville, DL, Sr. 6-4, 320 _ Had 60 tackles, nine tackles for loss, six sacks and two fumble recoveries.

STEPHEN SINGS, Charlotte Vance, DE, Jr., 6-3, 225 _ Had 60 tackles, 21 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks. Major Division I recruit.

ADRIAN SPELLMAN, Elizabeth City Northeastern, DL, Jr., 6-4, 225 _ Had 103 tackles and 22.5 sacks. All-conference pick. Being recruited by East Carolina, Old Dominion, UNC, N.C. State and Wake Forest.

MALIK WARD, Tarboro, DT, Sr., 6-0, 255 _ Had 69 tackles and five sacks. Defensive MVP of 1-AA title game.

JT WHITMORE, Charlotte Mallard Creek, DL, Jr., 6-3, 235 _ Had 52 tackles, 36 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, 20 hurries, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, two interception returns for touchdowns and three breakups.
