Stockton police beef up mall patrols after youth melee
STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) — Stockton police have beefed up patrols at two malls after about 100 youths were involved in a melee at one of the shopping centers earlier this week.
Police spokeswoman Rosie Calderon tells The Record newspaper there’s no indication the Tuesday night disturbance at Weberstown mall was organized.
Calderon says it was likely due to the number of youths on winter break.
The incident involved fighting, items being knocked over in a department store and people jumping on cars.
