Ladell Olof Richardson passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday morning, January 28, 2019.

Ladell was born in Murray, Utah, on 5 February 1934, the son of Claudius Ray and Florinda Hokanson Richardson. Ladell was raised in Salt Lake City until the untimely death of his father at age 6, and then lived in Orem where he graduated from Pleasant Grove High school.

Ladell married Betty Glenn Johnson in the Salt Lake Temple in 1954 and together have 7 children: Wade (Loraine) Richardson; Lonny Richardson; Kary (Dana) Richardson; Sandy (Marc) Arnoldsen; Tad (Tammie Richardson; Teri (Ken) Morris; and Jenn (Steve) Arnold. Through the LDS Placement Program, Ladell and Betty were foster parents to 3 Navajo children: Gary Brown, Lavonda Brown and Shelly Daw.

Ladell was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Bishop, Scoutmaster and Stake High Councilor. He and Betty served together in various church service missions. He taught by example. He will be remembered for his hard work, generosity and service to others.

He made his career working for the telephone company in various positions until retirement. He taught his children thrift, hard work, and many practical skills, from repairing the family car to building a home.

Ladell is survived by his wife, Betty, their 7 children, 46 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Lola Williams, Zella Rasmussen, and Theral Richardson.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 2nd, at 11:00 am, at the Sharon Park 5th Ward Chapel, 225 East 200 North, Orem, Utah, where Viewings will be held Friday, February 1st, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm and prior to services on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Interment in Orem City Cemetery, Orem, Utah.
