Send an Open Door client to the Sandwich Fair

August 18, 2018

Eating a corndog, visiting the petting zoo, rocking out at a concert and thrilling carnival rides are fair events that Open Door clients love to experience. Every year, the excitement grows as fair time approaches.

The Sandwich Fair has always been an activity highlight for Open Door clients, but unfortunately, some are on an extremely tight budget. Would you like to be a buddy and help out?

Consider a “My Buddy” sponsorship opportunity, which helps furnish the “extras” that many clients cannot afford. A $9 donation provides a one-day general admission to the fair. A $15 contribution sends a client to watch the demolition derby. All “My Buddy” sponsorships are 100 percent used for client needs, and donations of any amount will make a difference.

Open Door also holds a fundraiser during the fair. This longtime tradition is a booth that sells fresh-squeezed lemon shake-ups, and is operated by volunteers.

Consider a sponsorship that helps provide the ingredients necessary to make the lemon shake-ups, or lend a hand and volunteer to work the booth for a few hours.

“Whether it is a ‘My Buddy’ sponsorship, a lemon shake-up sponsorship, or volunteering at the Open Door fair booth, all efforts are appreciated and will make an enormous impact that helps to fund high quality, worthwhile programs and services for Open Door clients,” said a news release from Open Door.

Register to be a sponsor at odrc.org. For volunteer information, contact Kourtney at 815-786-8468, ext. 222, or kourtneyherren@odrc.org.
