Now Clippers Need New Head Coach

January 6, 1999

LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Now that the NBA lockout is over, the Los Angeles Clippers will soon have a new head coach.

The team has been without a coach since Bill Fitch was fired last April 20 _ two days after the team completed last season with a 17-65 record, third-worst in the league.

Clippers assistant Jim Brewer, former Sacramento Kings coach Eddie Jordan, and former Milwaukee coach Chris Ford are considered top candidates for the job. All three have been interviewed by the team for the position.
