Traffic at 23rd Street Southwest meets Fourth Avenue seeing change
The traffic pattern where 23rd Street Southwest meets Fourth Avenue will permanently change starting Monday.
According to Rochester Public Works, the change will change the traffic that must stop at the intersection.
As a result, northbound and southbound traffic on Fourth Avenue will be required to stop, while eastbound and westbound traffic on 23rd Street won’t stop.
The reversal is intended to create a safer intersection considering the steep hill approaching the intersection. Public Works staff expects traffic stopped on Fourth Avenue will be better able to see and respond to traffic traveling on 23rd Street.
