Man who owns house where body was found admits drug activity

March 1, 2018

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — A Vermont man who owned a house where the body of a missing woman was found last year is ready to admit he allowed his residence to be used by drug traffickers.

Poultney resident Wayne Oddo is due in federal court in Burlington on March 9.

As part of the plea agreement, Oddo acknowledges that between January and March 2017 he allowed two men to stay at his home while he knew they were distributing heroin and cocaine in the Rutland area.

A year ago the body of 26-year-old drug-overdose victim was found on Oddo’s property. Oddo did not call authorities.

Court document filed by Oddo’s lawyer say that the Vermont State Police ignored multiple requests from Oddo to speak to a lawyer. Federal prosecutors never responded to that document.
