Guam prepares for tropical storm
HAGATNA, Guam (AP) — Residents of Guam are bracing for a tropical storm.
Pacific Daily News (http://bit.ly/16Rdd2R) reports government offices and schools have been closed in anticipation of damaging winds that could hit the island within 12 hours.
Heavy showers are expected along with 45 mph winds and gusts to 60 mph.
A National Weather Service forecast says heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected through Friday and a small craft advisory is in effect through early Saturday.
