Kentucky, the only unbeaten team left in the tournament, rallied with three runs in the sixth inning, helped by two Redmen errors and a two-run single by Robbie Buchanon.

Kentucky scored three more times in the ninth inning to put the game away. Jon Hudson pitched the final five innings to pick up the win.

In the first game, Rutgers took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a leadoff single by Young, an RBI single by Glen Gardner and an RBI single by Gary Resetar.
