Girls Hockey | Century edges Waseca

December 20, 2018

Rochester Century outshot Waseca by nearly a three-to-one margin and managed to get a couple past the Bluejays goalie, which resulted in a 2-1 non-conference girls hockey win for the Panthers on Tuesday.

“We played a really strong game but Waseca’s goaltending was outstanding,” Century coach Tom Aney said. “I was happy with the pressure and team speed in all three zones. The girls are playing some good hockey right now.”

Century has won four of its past five games after an 0-4-0 start to the season. The Panthers (4-5-0 overall) received two goals from Kylie Lund, two assists from Ella Lentz and Victoria Johnson, and 14 saves from Abigail Conners.

Century hosts Onlaska (Wis.) at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Graham Arena.
