Nomo Leaves Game With Leg Injury
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) _ Tampa Bay right-hander Hideo Nomo limped off the mound with cramps in his left hamstring during the sixth inning of Monday night’s game against the Chicago White Sox.
The 36-year-old pitcher set himself to go into his windup for a 1-0 pitch to Paul Konerko before stopping abruptly and clutching the back of his thigh. He was replaced by Lance Carter with the Devil Rays trailing 2-1.
Nomo allowed two runs and five hits. He walked two and struck out four.
The Devil Rays said he will be evaluated further on Tuesday.
