West Indies chose to bat first versus England
BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS (AP) — West Indies captain Darren Sammy won the toss here Sunday and chose to bat first against England in the opening Twenty20 cricket international at Kensington Oval.
Ace batsman Chris Gayle returned to the hosts’ eleven after missing the one-day series with a strained back.
The West Indies left out Andre Fletcher, Krishmar Santokie, Johnson Charles and Sheldon Cottrell from its squad of 15.
England omitted Chris Jordan, Ian Bell, Stephen Parry and Moeen Ali from its squad of 15.
