LONDON (AP) _ Newcastle of the Premier League was eliminated from the FA Cup on Sunday, losing to first-division Wolverhampton 3-2 in the third round.
George Ndah scored the winning goal from close range in the second half after Newcastle rallied from a 2-0 deficit before halftime.
Wolverhampton, without a win in five league games and struggling in the middle of its division, played well at home in beating a Champions League team.
Also, Liverpool downed Manchester City 1-0 and Fulham defeated Birmingham City 3-1. Liverpool’s victory was its first in any competition since the mid-December League Cup win over Aston Villa.
Most of the third-round games were Saturday. The big upset was Everton’s 2-1 loss to third-division Shrewsbury Town.
