Police: Suspect flees after shooting at dice game wounds 3
NEWTON, Miss. (AP) — Police are investigating a shooting that they believe followed an argument over a dice game.
WTOK-TV reports three people were shot at a home in Newton on Thursday night. They were later found at a nearby convenience store.
Newton Police Chief Harvey Curry says tensions rose following a dice game.
Two of the victims remained hospitalized Friday in critical but stable condition. The third victim was released from the hospital.
Curry says the suspect’s name is being withheld. He says the person who police believe responsible fled after firing many shots at the victims.
Curry says witnesses and victims aren’t cooperating with police but says his department will pursue charges anyway.
