Madison College awards students with nearly $20,000

The annual Watertown scholarship awards luncheon was held at the Watertown Country Club on Friday, where Madison College presented 21 students with a total of $19,800 in scholarships, provided by area businesses, clubs, private donors and memorial funds.

The following students received scholarships this year:

Dana Meixner -- Ad-Tech Industries scholarship

Megan Himmerich -- Edward Joseph “Eddy” Bailey Memorial scholarship

Abigail Adams -- Jodi Heller, Heritage Homes Memorial scholarship

Alicia Hotmar -- John and Catherine Clifford Memorial scholarship

Alexander Zuehlke and Nicole Stewart -- Kiwanis Club of Watertown scholarship

Rachel Brown, Ariana Kritz, Tisa Lefaive and Amber Topp -- Kristi Marie Rhodes Haeger Memorial scholarship

Laurel Danielson -- Madison College Watertown Staff scholarship

Tiffany Hartline, Olivia Mendoza, Cassaundra Morris and Christie Preuss -- Watertown Community Foundation scholarship

Kelsey Hinaus and Mandolin Strelow -- Watertown Anonymous Nursing scholarship

Ashley Prockl -- Watertown Regional Medical Center scholarship

Julia Harper and Christopher Prost -- Watertown Rotary Club scholarship

Anita Wilson -- Women In Transition scholarship

Former campus administrator Lyn Hertel also received a commendation on behalf of the president of Madison College, for starting the scholarship program 35 years ago.

Since 1993, nearly $430,000 has been awarded to over 170 students as part of this program.
